Roche Lumi-Imager F1! $5,000 !
We get frequent requests for imaging/gel doc systems, and our experience has shown that most are insanely overpriced. You can get a digital camera for $20 these days, and darkness can actually save money- extinguish the lights! Quantitation of fluorescence or luminescence signal can't be done by the naked eye though. And you can't get enough precision with an old-fashionged colorimeter, where you look through the eyepiece and compare colors. Many of these machines are also just too big. The Eagle Eye, for example, is big enough to park a Tecan Genesis 100. So why pay for the Eagle Eye? Do you really want to dedicate half your building to a phosphoimager or STORM type system? This one is tall-ish, but has a pretty tight footprint. So: This Roche Lumi-Imager is made for nonradioactive detection luminescence and fluorescence detection. It has an incorporated transilluminator, a CCD camera, and software for analysis. Works with fluorescent dyes, probes, DIG-labeled substrates. Includes the PC, everything you need. But no more X-Ray film, no nukes, and plenty of sensitivity. There is a drawback though. The instrument aquires images and does the quantitative job, but the filter wheel does not initialize. We believe the motor is siezed, likely the reason it was given up. So the thing's on sale for $5,000. Roche's Lumi Page Roche's Lumi-Imager Brochure Free shipping between DC and Philly. |
