About Microarray Technology
This company has been involved wtih lab technology in molecular biology since 1994, and we have participated in the emergence of two crazy technologies: Q-PCR and Microarray. Real-Time PCR = Fluorophore technology in regular PCR allowing amplification progress to be quantitated (actually qualitated... ) with a fluorometer. We focus on Microarrays from the technical side. We started in the Oligonucleotide laboratory, specializing early in fluorophores and labeling technology. Our customers developed blot-based tests using labeled oligos to probe for hits, with Biotin or Dig. We hung them from carbon chains stuck to either end of the oligo. Research Genetics was actually selling arrays on nitrocellulose. We were warned against making Molecular Beacons. Fun! Do you believe in Density? Today, labels are much cleaner. And this is especially important in DNA, RNA, Protein and Antibody Microarraying. The fluor has to be very hot at the intended excitation wavelength, but it has to be very fine, given the necessary detection resolution. Our first robot was a little arrayer from a Madison area company. Then came the Q-Bot. We sold slides for microarray in 2000, and we've been studying the application pins. Look at this one!
Imagine, all this happened since 1998 or so. Our emphases on robotics, automation instruments, fluorophore chemistry, academic laboratories and microarray background make us your ideal source for microarray technology.
