Tecan's Genesis 100 RSP is one of the perfect laboratory automation instruments, and it makes for a great used robot. Most come with 4-channel liquid handlers (LiHa).
Monster Laboratories stocks the Genesis 100. It only requires about a meter of bench space, and comes with enough deck to carry out almost any application. WIth a RoMa (Tecan's gripper), off-deck appliances can be integrated, including plate readers, washers, heat sealers, incubators, Tecan's whole catalog of on-deck accessories. The Monitored Pump Option (MPO) is a metered pump in the liquid system with the syringes.
Programming is simple. Use Gemini software (Click, drag, dropdown menus, some data entry), visual basic, ASCII or worklists.
Many Tecan accessories are available. Disposable (DiTi) or fixed tips, syringes up to 5.0ml, DMSO-resistant plumbing, deckware for handling any vessel, vacuum or magnetic separators, are all options for this graceful, precise, flexible instrument.

Typical applications:
- Cytogenetics: Automate your chromosome harvest. Tecan has become the gold standard for cytogenetics automation.
- Plasmid Preps: Put a vacuum manifold (Te-Vac) or magnetic separator (Te-Mag or Promega-style) on deck, get your clones.
- PCR/Sequencing Prep: Syringes and system liquid allow very precise pipetting, at least to 384-well density.
- Rearraying: Liquid detection and precise pipetting make the Tecan Genesis ideal for basic liquid handling, like shrinking your libraries.
- Microarray: Desalt your DNA.
