| Qiagen Biorobots are flexible enough to process samples in typical labware, from tubes and strips to microplates.
The Biorobot 9600 is the classic, made to apply Qiagen's excellent extraction products to the processing of multiple samples in standard formats. This would be the Plasmid kits, DNA and RNA. For blood and clinical work they released the 9604, the same thing with some hygiene modifications. The 9600 was a simple design, very robust, and many have been beaten senseless after 15 years of possibly constant use.
The Biorobot 3000 came out with bigger deck space, more options and higher throughput.
Then there's the Biorobot 8000. This one is their first black box, a kit processing machine of high order.
We feel the 9600 is superior to the 3000, but the older machine has reliability issues now and parts are hard to come by. The 8000 had a bad start, with some dimensions being a little off. It would drag the vacuum manifold across the deck. Horrible.
