EMBLA from the front- isn't it pretty?

Skatron EMBLA Washer
EMBLA washers from Skatron (now a Molecular Devices product) have achieved some notariety among HT users as a robust, reliable, consistent and easy washer for cells and ELISA plates. We like the controls: Download your protocols, run them locally, and use the on-board pressure control and in-unit pressure pump to keep it optimal. It's a very simple design, fairly easy to maintain, and it's great to work on.
Pros like it for a variety of reasons, notably:
- Top-loading, robotic-compatible
- Ideal for ELISAs and most cell applications.
- Washer heads descend with aspirate, so probes never touch deeper than liquid surface (no risk of cross-contamination)
- Optimized for handle cell-based assays
- Swap between 96-well, 384-well microplates without replacing heads.
- Angled dispense probes avoid cell disturbance,
making it compatible with most cell lines, adherent and non-adherent.
- It's fast.
